This is Melinda' s recipe. A great way to use up tomatoes from your garden and it makes a nice summer salad. You can also add red onions, mozzarella or feta cheese. (Add cheese right before serving)

8 to 10 tomatoes (or enough for the number of people you are serving)
salt & pepper
Italian salad dressing
Slice tomatoes into a dish, dust with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add basil (fresh or dried). Continue with layers until tomatoes are used up. Pour bottle of dressing over all. Chill several hours before serving to absorb flavors.
