Cut leaves down both sides of the stem, stem can be bitter. Wash good, soaking is better. Add broth, sugar, baking soda to a large pot. Add collards. After they become wilted add ham or fresh pork for extra flavor. Cook 30 minutes to an hour. Depends on how tender you like your veggies.
